July

Hello allotmenteers!

Sorry we haven't been in touch for a little while. The allotment is still producing a great crop and its nearly time to start new crops - photos when they get going!

Minibel tomatoes have been delicious! Their very large (and now severely depleted!) crop has amazed us and they taste great - really tangy :)

Tomato count total as of July 30th - 45!

Here's a pic of our Ailsa Craig tomatoes. Can't wait for them to change colour!

Gardener's delight! (please turn red soon - yum!)

Our first courgette! It was delicious in vegetable curry with some of our own minty tsatsiki. Big thanks to Sarah for helping us dig over the plot and get the plants in earlier this month!

The garden is also changing face as we head into late summer; the bedding plants which served us so well at the start of our gardening adventure have gone over and have been replaced by this beautiful crocosmia (left), a "midnight blue" agapanthus and some bright red flax. The bees are really enjoying the change :) The bird feeder is re-filled and we've been noticing a lot more small birds visiting too.

Midnight blue agapanthus!

Thanks to everyone for following us! More updates soon,

love Kayleigh and Chris xx
